DC Multiverse The Monitor (BAF)
The Monitor is particularly known for his role in the landmark series "Crisis on Infinite Earths." There have been different incarnations of the Monitor, but the most notable one is known as Mar Novu.
Mar Novu, the Monitor, is an immensely powerful and virtually omnipotent cosmic being. He was created by the Overvoid (or the Primal Monitor) when it became aware of the Multiverse. The Monitor is tasked with watching over the Multiverse and ensuring its safety and stability. He is often depicted as a stoic and detached figure, observing events from afar but rarely intervening unless the situation is of cosmic significance.
In "Crisis on Infinite Earths," the Monitor plays a crucial role. He gathers heroes and villains from various Earths to battle the Anti-Monitor, his evil counterpart from the Antimatter Universe, who seeks to destroy all positive-matter universes. The Monitor's actions and the subsequent war have long-lasting effects on the DC Universe, leading to the consolidation of multiple Earths into a single universe and significant changes to many characters' backstories.-
