Marvel Legends (Sandman Wave): Green Goblin by Hasbro by figurefanzero.com
After weeks of reviewing figures from Marvel's First Ten Years collection, I'm back with my review of the Green Goblin figure from the Sandman Wave. What a journey it's been! Just one more figure to go and I can complete my Sandman.
In its packaging, Green Goblin comes with additional accessories and two heads for the Sandman Build-A-Figure. Considering the number of Spider-Man themed figures that have been available, it's surprising it took so long for Green Goblin, probably the most iconic Spider-Man villain, to make its appearance.
Identical to the Hobgoblin figure in body design, the Green Goblin figure is stunning with metallic green scale armor on its legs and arms and a touch of violet in its boots, gauntlets and tunic. The body works well for both figures and certainly cuts down the time we would normally spend on a review. But what sets them apart is the head - the lumpy, demented face full of personality is superbly done. Plus, the shoulder bag, pumpkin bomb and glider accessories definitely complete the allure.
Though Hasbro could have made the body slightly unique, the current one works great. With both Mysterio and Doc Ock figures in the queue, it seems this Spider-Man rogue gallery is expanding!
Marvel Legends Green Goblin figure review – BAF Sandman wave by lylesmoviefiles.com
Green Goblin is an iconic figure in the Marvel Legends series, and Toy Biz's 2006 rendition has held strong over the years. Hasbro's recent attempt has left me with some mixed feelings. The packaging is standard with appealing accent colors and character side portraits. The likeness is quite accurate, with a modern take on the Green Goblin, complete with helmet flaps. However, the figure seems a bit large and the belt tends to slide down. In terms of scale and paint, the figure aligns nicely with Spider-Man and the paintwork is generally good, though the iris of the eyes could be better. The articulation is where this version really shines compared to the Toy Biz figure - Hasbro has upped its game, making for a flexible, more functional figure. Goblin comes with several accessories including a removable satchel, a pumpkin bomb, and a glider. Despite a few minor drawbacks, at a sale price of $13, this is a great addition to any Marvel collection. The figure has been rated 9 out of 10.
