The Shadow Squadron was an Imperial starfighter squadron that was formed after the fall of the Galactic Republic. Its ranks consisted of former valorous clone trooper pilots that had devolved into ruthless Imperial enforcers as the evil Galactic Empire was born. Shadow Squadron modified their speeder bikes to serve the Emperor's new and more sinister cause, being specially tasked to hunt down pro-Republic remnants after the Clone Wars.

Star Wars Black Series IMPERIAL SHADOW SQUADRON (Target Exclusive) HOLY GRAIL Action Figure Review by www.youtube.com review sentiment positive

Justin from Out of the Basement is thrilled to bring an in-depth review of the Star Wars: The Black Series 6-inch figure set of the Shadow Squadron released in 2014. This Target exclusive includes the Shadow Scout, Shadow Stormtrooper Commander, and a Speeder Bike. Justin appreciates the variance in finishes, with glossy, matte, chrome silver and even a shade of midnight blue adorning the figures. They also come with an assortment of well-sculpted weapons. The shaded paint adds to the 'shadow' character of the Stormtroopers, and the ability to cloak their armor intensifies that stealth aspect. The figures are impeccably detailed, with unseen depth in the Speeder Bike design. The box packaging also includes a diorama feature, another appreciated detail. Justin acknowledges some weight balance issues with the product's stands but notes that they were improved with later series. With its attention to detail and satisfying paintwork, Justin highly recommends this set if it can be found at a reasonable price.

Star Wars Black: Imperial Shadow Squadron (Target Exclusive) by Hasbro by figurefanzero.com review sentiment positive

Hasbro didn't waste any time in repainting the Star Wars Black 6-inch Speeder Bike and Biker Scout. The Shadow Squadron set, exclusive to Target, flew off the virtual shelves quickly. The packaging maintains its overall black, collector-friendly design, housing not only the Speeder Bike and Biker Scout but also a Sandtrooper.

The Shadow Scout and Speeder Bike are identical to their original versions, just repainted. The black armor, dark gray bodysuit, and abdominal area along with gray and silver detailing sets it apart. The Speeder Bike is particularly impressive, with a unique combination of matte and glossy black along with the addition of gray plastic and silver accents. This set really stands out concurrently due to the bold variances in color and striking Imperial insignia propped on the back of the bike and also hidden in between the handlebars.

The set provides accessories like the small Biker Scout's pistol and triangular stands for the Speeder Bike. The Biker Scout and Sandtrooper's matte black and glossy grey detail integrated along with the classic decos are equally well done, making these not just mere repaints, but a worthwhile investment for collectors.
